How long does therapy take in order to get results?
Great question. I am dedicated to helping you receive the most effective results in the shortest amount of time. I have found that weekly sessions are the most effective in alleviating symptoms and getting you back on track quickly. I will help you identify goals and update/reflect on your progress so that we can modify our approach and pace if necessary. Often clients begin to feel better within the first few sessions.
Can I use my insurance to pay for sessions if I’m “out of network”?
Quite possibly yes. Frequently many in-network providers are at capacity and cannot except new clients. The alternative is finding an out-of-network provider who meets your specific needs. After determining that we are a good fit together on the phone, I will provide you a super-bill statement of paid services that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, which is often around 50% of cost. You may want to look into your specific plan’s reimbursement percentage for out-of-network.
Do you take clients on a sliding scale?
I accept sliding scale on a case by case basis, based on availability and need. I always consider your financial situation and needs as a client to the best of my ability.
Do you do phone, Facetime, or Skype sessions?
Yes. I provide therapy sessions by phone, Facetime, or Skype, as long as you reside in the state of California. I prefer to offer this service in addition to face-to-face therapy, however can meet your needs for brief therapy or relationship-based coaching by phone. Brief phone coaching can be out of state and/or country with a pre-signed understanding of terms and limitations. All phone sessions must be paid for in advance of the scheduled time, or with a credit card I have on file.
